How to Navigate CIL and VOC Dashboards

CleanChain now includes the new Chemical Inventory List and VOC Dashboards, which help users align with ZDHC and Higg standards by improving visibility into responsible chemical use. These dashboards also enable users to generate SDS‑based reports that can be easily submitted to ZDHC, simplifying compliance efforts and supporting reduced environmental and health impacts across the supply chain. These Dashboards are available to users with Premium Plus Subscription and any facility that has purchased CIL-VOC Reporting add-on, effective from April 1, 2026.

Chemical Inventory List

In this dashboard, users can export all available chemical information stored in CleanChain in a structured format that can be directly copied into the ZDHC CIL Template. You can access ZDHC guidance on chemical purchasing here, along with the official ZDHC CIL Template. Follow the steps below to get started:

1.   Select Dashboard > Chemical Inventory List

2.     Pick the date range for the inventory period then, click Apply.

3.     Choose how the inventory weight (kg) should be displayed.

4.     Select Scope.

·       This Facility – Displays all inventory records that belong only to the currently selected facility.

·       All Facilities in This Account – Displays inventory records from every facility associated with the same account.

·       This Facility and the Supply Chain (default) – Displays inventory records from the selected facility as well as all linked supply chain facilities.

5.   View Results and Extract Results

a.     View result according to the selected criteria:

       i.         Click . The results will refresh below based on the criteria you selected.

The chart on the left shows the percentage of chemical types by count, indicating whether they are Process Chemicals (Chemicals used in production e.g., dyeing, washing, etc.) or Commodity Chemicals (single substance or chemical compounds with single CAS number that are interchangeable between manufacturers and do not remain on  the final product e.g., bleach, ammonia, etc.). The chart on the right shows the percentage of chemicals with SDS and the percentage of chemicals without SDS.

b.     Export Excel Report

      i.         Clickto generate a report based on the selected criteria.

ii.         Click onto refresh the report's status.

iii.         Rename the Report Title and save changes by clicking .

iv.         Click to download the report.

      v.         Reload the filters by clicking.

vi.         To delete the generated report, click.

VOC Dashboard

In this dashboard, users can extract a report that shows the Potential to Emit (PTE) based on the products used and their chemical ingredients during a selected inventory period. The report includes the percentage of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs), which are organic chemicals that easily evaporate into the air and may contribute to environmental and health impacts. Using data from uploaded Safety Data Sheets (SDS), the system classifies VOCs according to US EPA CERCLIS, EU VOC regulations, and the ZDHC Good and Bad Solvents lists, where applicable. The report contains facility inventory data to support annual submissions to the ZDHC Air Emissions Module, which is accessible via the ZDHC Supplier Platform.

As you navigate the dashboard, you can quickly view total emissions, identify which materials contribute the most, and access detailed breakdowns to support reporting and compliance requirements. Follow the steps below to get started:

1.    Select Dashboard > VOC Air Emissions

2.     Tick the box to include chemicals from the selected classification lists.

3.     Pick the date range for the inventory period then, click Apply.

4.     Select the SDS Source.
·       Uploaded by the facility – SDS files uploaded directly by your facility or by the account linked to your facility.
·       Any SDS in the CleanChain Library - SDS files uploaded by any facility or user within the platform.

5.     Select Scope.
·      All Products – Shows every product in your inventory, including those with 0 kg recorded (i.e., products not currently in stock but still part of your inventory list).
·      All Products with Inventory– Shows only products that currently have stock (greater than 0 kg).
·      All SDS– Shows all products that have an SDS available, regardless of stock level.
·      \SDS with VOC– Shows only products that have an SDS and contain VOCs as classified by US EPA CERCLIS, EU VOC regulations, and the ZDHC Good and Bad Solvents lists.

6.     View Results and Extract Results
a.     View result according to the selected criteria:
      i.         Click. The results will refresh below based on the criteria you selected.

The chart on the left shows the percentage of products classified as VOC (Organic chemicals that easily evaporate in the air e.g., acetone, formaldehyde, etc.), non‑VOC (chemicals that are not considered volatile under EPA rules e.g., methane, ethane, etc.), or unknown, while the chart on the right displays the percentage of products identified as good and bad solvents according to the ZDHC, based on the results from the selected criteria.

b.     Export Excel Report
       i.         Clickto generate a report based on the selected criteria.
ii.         Click onto refresh the report's status.
iii.         Rename the Report Title and save changes by clicking .
iv.         Click  to download the report.
      v.         Reload the filters by clicking .
vi.       To delete the generated report, click .
