Getting Started with Chemical Scoring

Getting Started with Chemical Scoring

Introduction

We are also proud to announce that in June 2021, the Chemical Score standard will debut in CleanChain in partnership with Scivera and ToxServices.

Chemical Scoring is a format for assessing and rating chemical products and substances. The rating is used to identify best-in-class chemicals or better alternatives to chemicals currently used in the supply chain.

The Chemical Score functionality is an expansion of the existing CleanChain Chemical Module and part of our commitment to continuously improve the product. It will be available to all CleanChain users with an active subscription.

Evaluation by Chemical Score will provide both suppliers and their customers with a different standard chemical scoring methodology to compare products in the supply chain based on quantifiable methods.

In June, ADEC will be working with Scivera and ToxServices to upload scored products into the CleanChain database.

Product Scoring

Chemical Scoring requires that each chemical ingredient (CAS) within a product be scrutinized against specific health and environmental impacts. After the analysis of the ingredients, a final score between 0 and 50 is assigned to the product.
